The expansion tank is like a closed box. On the visible part, there is a valve and a screw fitting. It has a membrane inside. It is filled with nitrogen for the membrane. Air pressure is calculated taking into account the size of the tank and the number of radiators of the heating system. For average domestic users, the air pressure of the membrane in the expansion tank is usually between 0.75 - 1 bar.
The expansion tank is used to store the expanded water due to the heating in the system. To summarize, if the total length of radiators in your house is 7 meters and the heating system is operating with a heat of 50 degrees in winter, the water pressure in the system will increase by 1.5 bars due to the expansion of the heated water. Expanded water will naturally increase the water pressure in the system. At this stage, the expansion tank steps in and draws the excess water into itself and keeps the water pressure at 1.5 bar.
Onaysan products are guaranteed for 2 to 5 years depending on the membrane quality. More than 90 models of products are produced annually in Onaysan's production lines.
